Recently, a piece of news made the Chinese netizens tearful.
At the end of February, a residential building burst into flames in Shenyang, Liaoning province. A couple, Wang Xue and Li Shuo, lived in the building.
At 2 am, when the fire broke out, Wang Xue woke up. She heard the faint cries for help from upstairs and heavy footsteps in the corridor.
She woke up her husband Li Shuo. When Li Shuo came out, he saw the fire had spread and they quickly ran out of their home.
Li Shuo let his wife, Wang Xue, go first. As she ran down the corridor she kept shouting her husband’s name. Before long, however, she noticed that her husband was not responding. Without hesitation, she turned and ran back down the corridor and up the stairs.
“It was so dark in the corridor that I could not see anything and the heat was suffocating,” Wang Xue said. She found her husband on the ground, he had fainted. He was exhausted and his body was limp as she helped him down the stairs.
“At that time, I just wanted to make sure my husband didn’t have any problems.”
She helped him down 7 flights of stairs.
Both Li Shuo and Wang Xue suffered severe burns on their face, hands, and feet.
In the hospital, Li Shuo recovered consciousness and was instantly worried about his wife and began looking for her when he noticed she was shaving her head to prepare for treatment.
Li Shuo’s tears flowed down uncontrollably, “Without her, I feel like I wouldn’t be in this world.”
Wang Xue said, “In the future, we will only cherish more of each other. Fortunately, neither of us has given up on the other.”
At present, Wang Xue and Li Shuo are still recovering in the hospital.
The fire incident is also under further investigation.
When it comes to life and death, some people may disregard others for their own interests.
But those that are truly in love will stick together no matter what difficulties they meet.
We wish Wang Xue and Li Shuo and speedy recovery and happy life in the future!
