In the endless stream of Instagram fitness web celebrities, one of them has come out on top recently.
He doesn’t have strong muscles nor a “perfect” body. He isn’t tall nor particularly handsome; in fact, he’s got a bit of a beer belly going on. And yet, despite all those imperfections, he has been called the ‘world’s greatest dad’ by netizens worldwide.
This man is Ash from Melbourne, Australia.
Ash has hundreds of thousands of followers thanks to the videos and pictures he has been uploading, in which he simulates his daughter Alex’s gymnastic moves and warms the hearts of online users.
Alex has always been a bit of a wild card, running around everywhere ever since she a child which, to many parents, would be a great source of headaches. Luckily, it wasn’t for Ash who channeled his daughter’s energy through various sporting activities. This patience and great parenting eventually led to Alex’s passion for gymnastics.
Alex kicked it off full of enthusiasm, but over time Ash noticed that something was wrong.
After they talked, Ash realized how stressful and tough her training had been, and the fact that other kids had been laughing at her posture didn’t make it any easier for her.
So Ash, at the age of 40, decided to dedicate part of his own time to training with his daughter to make her feel more at ease while spending some quality, family time together. When it was time for the next day’s training, Alex still came to the training hall on time and was surprised to find her father there. He looked rather strange in his gymnastic attire, but definitely proud to be there to accompany his daughter.
The children’s attention all turned to Ash who became a crowd pleasure right off the bat. With their trainer’s permission, Ash began to try a few simple movements which were already quite hard for him to execute properly!
Ash vs. Alex
Alex needed more than 30 hours of gymnastics training a week, but that didn’t matter as much anymore once her loving dad had started to come with her. That definitely boosted her motivation and self-confidence.
Alex trains 6 days a week, 5 hours a day. Ash decided that he would stay with his daughter for as long as she needed him to.
He wasn’t trying to be funny or attention-grabbing. He was only trying to be every bit as good as he could be.
Each time he fell, he got up again, adjusted himself and carried on.
Compared to money or material possessions, this kind of optimistic attitude and intimate company make up one inexhaustible and precious wealth in her daughter’s life.
They eventually turned their own yard into their outdoor gym to keep on practicing together. Through her dad’s continuous encouragement, Alex has become a much more confident young lady.
After years of practice, Ash has seen major transformations both physically and in his ability to perfect movements.
Those memories of spending quality, active time with her dad will forever remain some of the most precious and cherished times in Alex’s life.
When you have your parents’ full support and encouragement, nothing can stop you from accomplishing your dreams.
